About Keepers
We are a recruitment firm based in New York City with teams in the U.S.A. and Brazil. We help US-based high-growth tech companies build their teams, specializing in domestic and offshore talent. Our clients include leading startups like Cal.com and Gumroad.
At Keepers, we don’t just fill roles; we challenge industry standards and earn trust from clients and candidates for being supportive, effective, and high-urgency. We pride ourselves on delivering a thoughtful, human, and efficient candidate and client experience. This may sound like typical corporate fluff, but Keepers is FAR from your typical recruiting firm.
We have very high expectations of each other. We’re a team of high-performing professionals with a common goal of outsized professional and financial success. Keepers is more challenging, rewarding (financially, professionally, and personally), and supportive than 99% of companies. DO NOT APPLY if accelerated growth and financial achievement are not your top priorities.
Keepers Values
- Teamwork Above all: We prioritize our team and our team-oriented culture. Whether we walk as champions or losers, we will be directly influenced by our ability to work exceptionally well with each person involved in this mission.
- Thoughtful: We take the extra step, from tiny details to primary strategy, everything we do must meet a thoughtfulness standard.
- Safety: We foster a sense of psychological safety and belonging so every member feels comfortable taking risks, making mistakes, being vulnerable, and being authentic.
- Purpose: We seek a clear shared purpose guiding our decisions and actions. We understand the impact we create in people’s lives, and we should be able to cite multiple examples of how Keepers has positively impacted someone.
- Autonomy: We aim to create an environment that empowers our team to be decisive, innovative, and motivated. The freedom to decide how each individual reaches the desired results fuels our intrinsic motivation.
About the Role
The Candidate Discovery Specialist is a critical front-line interviewer at Keepers. Your judgment is trusted as the gatekeeper of the talent we eventually place with our clients. You will conduct in-depth candidate discovery calls, assess cultural fit, gather technical fit details, and translate your findings into clear, actionable notes for hiring decisions. You will leverage AI tools and processes to make your work effective and high-quality. This role sits at the heart of our recruiting process. You’re the person who uncovers why a candidate is exceptional (or not) and communicates that insight to our internal team.
You’ll help us execute and further develop the gold standard for candidate assessment. Successful candidates for this role will start on a trial period, working part-time. This role can lead to a client-facing account manager role or expanding leadership responsibilities within the interviewing specialist team.
About You
You love talking to people and can fast-spot red flags and hidden gems in a conversation. You have experience interviewing candidates for technical roles and know how to probe beyond a script to get to the truth. You’re tech-curious, organized, fluent in English, and confident in making judgment calls.
You see interviewing as investigative work. You piece together signals from what is said, not said, and how it’s said to assess whether a candidate is a great fit and why they might not be.
You are looking for an opportunity to join a fast-paced team that gets more done in one week than other teams do in three or four. You are impatient about your career growth and want to be paid well above market. To you, working on Sundays or burning the midnight oil side by side with the founders isn’t a sacrifice; it’s an opportunity to chase after your growth obsession.
Working with you feels easy and productive.
You have a fairly big chip on your shoulder.
